Dr. Daniel Okeke and Oliviachicks Ltd (referred to as "we", "us", or "our") respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the Oliviachicks Smart Animal Counter web application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

The Service is designed to collect as little information as possible. The categories of information involved are:

• Photos you upload. When you use the counter, the image you select or capture is sent to our secure backend for processing by our AI counting engine. Once the count result is returned, the image is discarded from our servers.
• Camera and gallery access. If you use the "Take Photo" option, the Service requests temporary access to your device camera. If you use "Upload Photo", the Service reads the image file you select. No other files on your device are accessed.
• Count history stored on your device. Recent counts, tap positions, and session notes may be stored locally in your browser so you can review them later. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
• Basic technical information. Our hosting provider (Netlify) and backend provider (Railway) may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. This is used only for security and reliability, not for advertising or profiling.

2. What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, email address, home address, GPS location, farm location, or any other personally identifying information through the Service. We do not require you to create an account.

3. How We Use Information

Information we do handle is used only to:

• Process your photo and return an animal count result.
• Maintain the security, availability, and reliability of the Service.
• Improve the accuracy of the counting engine over time in an aggregated and non-identifying manner.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any information to third parties, and we do not use your information for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

To operate the Service, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers:

• Netlify hosts the web application.
• Railway hosts the backend server that receives and processes your photo.
• Anthropic provides the underlying AI model used to identify and count animals in your photo. Photos sent to this AI service are processed to produce the count and are not retained for training.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and appropriate security safeguards.

5. Data Retention

Photos you upload are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after the count is returned. Locally stored count history remains on your device until you clear your browser data or reset the app.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for use by adults involved in poultry and livestock management. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information handled through the Service, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) or similar international regulations. These may include the right to request information about how your data is processed, to request correction or deletion, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where Oliviachicks Ltd is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
